You have no doubt seen or heard the commercials: "Where does depression hurt? EVERYWHERE. Who does depression hurt? EVERYONE." Mental illnesses can consume you, take over your entire life and hurt everyone around you if you let it. I am no exception.

My life feels like I am stuck riding on a rollercoaster in the middle of a hurricane. I have ups and downs, and I have left a path of destruction in my wake. My sanity dangles on a tiny fragile string, and through this blog I am giving the world a look into my broken mind and my unstable life.

In the end, I am just a girl trying to maintain my sanity in a candy-coated world of misery. Here you'll get a glimpse at just how true those commercials are. Keep your arms and legs inside the blog at all times, hold on tight, and prepare yourself for a very bumpy ride ...

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Saturday 9: Leaving on a Jet Plane

1. When was the last time you jetted away for the holidays?
Does driving my car to my mom's house count as "jetting away?" Probably not, but if it does, I did that last week. If it doesn't count, then I've never really jetted away

2. What is your fondest birthday memory?
My favorite memories are of my birthday cakes I had as a kid. There were My Lil Pony cakes, Strawberry Shortcake cakes, Carebear cakes, and more

3. What names do you go by?
Mostly just Jennifer

4. What do you look forward to most in the next six weeks?
I'm looking forward to the holidays being over

5. Where is your least favorite place to be, and why?
In my front lawn after dark... the drug dealer across the street has some customers that scare the hell out of me

6. Have you ever had a scary stalker type?
I think my ex-husband would qualify as a scary stalker type

7. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Eating tons of my mom's homemade food

8. What are two activities you do after eating Thanksgiving Dinner?
Normally I either help my mom do dishes or I just watch her do them while I talk to her. Then I sit in a chair for a long time

9. What did your family do for Thanksgiving when you were a kid? Do you still do it? If not explain why.
My mom made a full Thanksgiving meal at lunchtime. She still does it
