You have no doubt seen or heard the commercials: "Where does depression hurt? EVERYWHERE. Who does depression hurt? EVERYONE." Mental illnesses can consume you, take over your entire life and hurt everyone around you if you let it. I am no exception.

My life feels like I am stuck riding on a rollercoaster in the middle of a hurricane. I have ups and downs, and I have left a path of destruction in my wake. My sanity dangles on a tiny fragile string, and through this blog I am giving the world a look into my broken mind and my unstable life.

In the end, I am just a girl trying to maintain my sanity in a candy-coated world of misery. Here you'll get a glimpse at just how true those commercials are. Keep your arms and legs inside the blog at all times, hold on tight, and prepare yourself for a very bumpy ride ...

Princess with baggage

When I was growing up, I always dreamed of Prince Charming riding up on a white horse and sweeping me off my feet. We'd ride off into the sunset together and live happily ever after.

Nowhere in that dream did I have a ton of baggage. I never dreamed that I'd have a bunch of emotional baggage to try to fit on the back of that horse.

Well, no dream is ever perfect. Fairytales don't just happen without having to work at it. Everyone enters into relationships with some sort of baggage. I definitely have my share of baggage. Actually I think I have several people's shares of baggage.... abusive childhood, abusive marriage, divorce, rape, physical health illnesses, and mental illnesses.

Luckily my boyfriend has been very understanding and is helping me through some of my crap. It's actually surprised me that he's handled things as well as he has.

I have no idea what the point to this blog entry is. Just thought I'd ramble about the thoughts in my head.

Honey, it can work. Just buy a donkey to pull along behind that white horse with a basket on either side to carry both his and your baggage. You might notice that as you two ride along together, some of that baggage may just fall by the wayside. Kisses
